Signed, dated and located New York lower right. 60 x 37 cm (Paper very slightly warped). This drawing was reproduced in a very similar version for the cover of The New Yorker of May 18, 1987. There are subtle differences between the two drawings, with a few characters added added in the version published by the New Yorker, Sempé's fine rendering the tumultuous atmosphere typical of the '80s. Provenance: purchased from the artist by the current owner.
