Small signed Louis XV bureau plat by Antoine Criaerd rosewood and kingwood, veneered. Three-sided cambered body on curved legs. Three drawers of different sizes in the articulated front. Framed veneer panels with diamond motifs covering the entire surface. Rich bronze rocaille applications. Stamped sign. A CRIAERD and Parisian jury stamp JME. Like his brother Mathieu (1689-1776) and his eldest son Antoine Mathieu (1724-1778), Antoine Criaerd belonged to a family of extremely successful Parisian ebenists.
