Magnificent Meissen decorative cup with relief frieze on saucer. Cookie porcelain, partially glazed. Kyathos shape, raised band handle with palmette attachment. The wall with a surrounding frieze of antique-style, figurative, scenic depictions over a wide palmette border, the mirror with corresponding palmette decoration. Fine, white relief overlay on a matt, cappuccino-colored background. Wide gold rim. Model no. Q 88, crossed swords mark. Cup h. 8.5 cm. In the style of the classicist relief overlays of antique motifs on jasperware by the English manufacturer Wedgwood in Etruria. Cf.
