A secret poison cabinet in book cover, German historicism in the style of the 17th century Poison cabinet in the original 17th century parchment-covered and ornamentally embossed book cover with cut-out, glued pages. On the first cover page a colored copper engraving on parchment with an anatomical depiction. In the book block lined with marbled paper, twelve inscribed drawers with flame borders frame the memento mori composition placed in the center in front of the mirror, the skull made of dark horn, adorned with lumps of quartz and faux pearls and corals.
