Illustrated original paper boards (edges somewhat rubbed, slightly creased, very small loss in the cover in the price area barely noticeably restored). First edition. - 'Junkie' was Burroughs' first published novel, although he had previously written an unpublished novel with Jack Kerouac. Ace Books demanded considerable changes and censored some passages. It was not until 1977 that Penguin Books published an uncensored version of the novel under the alternative spelling Junky. - Bound upside down with its own cover illustration: Maurice Helbrant. Narcotic Agent. 169 p. - Browned due to paper, top corner slightly creased at the beginning, overall in good condition.
