Description
Fingesten, Michel. 21 Improvisations. Watercolor title, 19 (18 watercolor and signed) original lithographs (17) and original etchings (2) as well as 2 (1 signed) original watercolor pencil drawings, each mounted. No location, probably Berlin, around 1920, various formats. Loose in half-linen folder of the period with closing straps (lower edges heavily bumped, some with small losses). Collection of mostly erotic occasional prints, including some ex-libris. The two pencil drawings are titled "Autarkie" (7.5 x 14 cm) and "Elegie" (23 x 20.5 cm). The watercolor ex-libris were perhaps intended as final templates for the final color lithographs and as such are mostly listed with Nechwatal. - Some of the upper corners of the prints with traces of mounting, some of the outer margins of the boards and the cut somewhat red-stained, title page somewhat waterstained. - Provenance: From the collection of Hans-Jürgen Döpp, Frankfurt.
