Helmut Nimczewski (1945/46), an Art Brut artist living in Hamburg, spent his childhood repeatedly in institutions and for long periods in a psychiatric clinic. In addition to his strict religiosity, Helmut had a strong penchant for order and precision. This is also reflected in his drawings, which seem to be exact inventories of a confused and chaotic world. It usually took him several months to complete his works, which he marked with a start and end date at the bottom of the picture. - Fully mounted on support, minimally rubbed overall and tiny pinholes in the corners.
