VIERA SPARZA (Zaragoza, 1908 - Madrid, 1987). "Lady in the sun", c. 1950. Watercolor and ink on paper. Signed in the lower left corner. Measurements: 33 x 24 cm; 50 x 44 cm (frame). Known as Viera Sparza or Viera Landa, María Dolores Esparza Pérez de Petinto, was an illustrator, writer and graphic humorist. She had a close friendship with the painter Hipólito Hidalgo de Caviedes, who admitted in an interview in 1963 that he was her favorite painter and caricaturist. In 1923 she published the first cover of the magazine Blanco y Negro, with a drawing called "Al amor de la lumbre", of late symbolist tendency, signed with the real name of Dolores Esparza.
