Ceiling lamp; DEGUÉ; France, c. 1930. Pressed glass. Signed. Measurements: 12 x 38 x 38 cm. Floral-inspired Art Deco ceiling lamp with pressed glass shade, with a design inspired by the plant world. Degué, founded by David Guéron, an artist and glass industrialist of Turkish origin. He ran the Verrerie d'Art Degué, on Boulevard Malesherbes, Paris, from 1926 to 1939. In the early 1920s he produced this type of Compiègne glass works, gradually introducing Art Deco models in his designs. World War II put an end to his activity as an artistic glassmaker, and Guéron left France for the United States in 1939 during the war period.
