Title-frontispiece, portrait of Madame de Maintenon engraved by G. Sibelius and portrait engraved by Fritsch in the first two volumes of the Mémoires, which were given by La Baumelle and led to his imprisonment. A lemon morocco copy from the Lamoignon library, with the repeated wet stamp and characteristic quotation on the endpapers. Frequent foxing, traces of damp. Spine darkened. Without the portrait and title-frontispiece announced by Tchemerzine in Lettres.
