Small in-12, olive morocco, small-iron lace, Lorraine cross crowned at the corners, ornate smooth spine, pink tabis lining and endpapers, interior roulette, gilt edges (period binding). Attractive edition forming part of the Collection d'ouvrages français, en vers et en prose, commissioned by the Count of Artois and printed at his expense in a small number of copies by Didot l'aîné. The collection comprises 64 titles, published between 1780 and 1784: the Temple de Gnide is the first. Delightful binding in morocco with lace, executed for a prince of Lorraine. Tabis a little faded on the edges.
