Peter von Cornelius (1783 Düsseldorf - Berlin 1867), Kriemhild sees the body of Siegfried.
Pencil on transparent paper, mounted on cardboard. (1812-1817). 52.2 x 39.2 cm.
A pen and ink drawing of the same scene is recorded in the Städel Museum's Graphische Sammlung, Frankfurt am Main (inv. no. 6275 Z). - Paper somewhat yellowed. The margins with several tears and individual tears. Paper rubbed and thinned in places. Some creases, some larger, due to mounting.
