Johann Jakob Dorner D. J. (1775 - Munich - 1852), "Die Pfannenschmiede bei Fischbachau". Watercolor over pencil on firm laid paper. 1826. 22.2 x 32.1 cm. Signed and dated lower right. Titled verso. Landscape notated in differentiated brown and green tones. Titled in his own hand on the verso. Dorner the Younger is known as one of the co-discoverers of the Upper Bavarian landscape for painting, whereby he stands in the tradition of his father and thus also in the tradition of the Dutch landscape painters of the 17th century. - Slightly darkened at the upper edge, occasional light foxing. Verso with remnants of old mounting, otherwise good.
