Friedrich Salathé (1793 Binningen near Basel - Paris 1858), Study of trees above a garden wall. Pencil on paper. 22.7 x 38.1 cm (sheet size). Numbered "24" lower left. Verso pencil study of an Italian city (Rome?). The lateral margins in the mat opening slightly darkened and with occasional tiny stains. The lateral sheet edges partly with small tears. In good condition. Exhibition: Friedrich Salathé (1793-1858). Ein Zeichner der Romantik, Kunstmuseum Basel, Basel et al. 1988, p. 155, cat. no. 64, with two exhibition labels on the back of the frame.
