Irena von Rügen, Dame mit lila Kleid Picture of a lady in a purple Art Deco dress, academic fashion design on an anatomically professionally drawn female model, who presents the dress in an exciting pose, watercolour and opaque colours over lead on cardboard, around 1940, monogrammed "R." in opaque white lower right and inscribed "Schrift in Brillant. Purpur.", minor foxing, attractively framed behind glass, folded dimensions approx. 55.5 x 37.5 cm. Artist information: German fashion designer (1909 to 1990), trained as a fashion illustrator at the Lette-Verein from 1925-28, already published works in "Blätter für Wäsche, Kleider und Putz" during her training, subsequently worked as a fashion illustrator for the publishing house Otto Beyer until 1945, continued to work as a fashion illustrator after the Second World War, her works appeared in "Garn und Wolle" and "Berlins Modenblatt", later mainly occupied with painting, source: Internet presence of the Lette-Verein.
