Portrait of Sir John Richardson Colored painter's enamel on copper. Bust portrait in a blue skirt against a red background. Contreémail signed and dated on the reverse "Painted by H. Bone ARA Enamel Painter to H.R. Highness The Prince of Wales Febr. 1806". 5.9 x 4.5 cm. Original gilt metal frame. Henry Bone, London, 1806. Henry Bone was one of the best enamel painters of his time and worked as a court miniaturist for the English kings George III, George IV and William IV. Provenance Sotheby's London on October 6, 1980, lot 101. Rhenish private collection.
