PUIFORCAT Vermeil bottle bucket decorated with friezes of ovals, the body adorned with the Kroyer-Kielberg coat of arms accompanied by the motto "Fidem Servabo". Work in the Louis XIV style. Circa 1926-1928, dates of Sir Ferdinand Michael Kroyer-Kielberg's ennoblement and the rebuilding of Stockgrove Park. (Oxidation, wear.) Height 21 cm Weight: 2,700 g. Provenance : - Former collection of Sir Michael KROYER KIELBERG (1882-1958) Danish-born shipping magnate and philanthropist, Sir Michael Kroyer-Kielberg was founding president of United Molasses. Under his leadership, the company played a key role in supporting the Free Denmark Movement during the war. He also served as Danish Ambassador to the Court. An art lover, his collections included important works by Sisley, Corot, Pissarro and Epstein. Between 1928 and 1930, he built Stockgrove Park House in Bedfordshire, a property considered to be the last major castle in England. built in England.
