First edition of this poetic tomb published after the death in 1579 of Jean de Thou, maître des requêtes de l'Hôtel du Roi and brother of the famous bibliophile Jacques-Auguste. Of the 25 pieces, 6 are by Jean Dorat, 3 by Jean Passerat, 2 by Nicolas Rapin, and one by Jacques-Auguste de Thou, brother of the deceased. From the Charles Cammell library (armorial bookplate).
