Adriani Turnebi [...], Tumulus, A Doctis quibusdam viris, è Graeco, Latino, & Gallico carmine excitatus. Paris, Fédéric Morel, 1565. Plaquette in-4 of 10 leaves, bradel ivory vellum, triple gilt fillet, coat of arms in center, smooth mute spine (Modern binding). First edition of this literary tomb of Adrien Turnèbe (1512-1565), a great Renaissance humanist who was notably the King's printer for Greek (1552). (J. P. Barbier-Mueller, II-1, n°71.) It comprises 9 pieces, including an unpublished sonnet by Ronsard entitled Sur le trespas d'Adrian Turnèbe. A vellum copy bearing the collector's coat of arms. The second leaf, unsigned, is rebacked.
