Porcelain, painted underglaze in color, standing, slightly bent forward nude girl with towel on a round, stepped plinth, indistinct artist's signature "J. Boese" on the plinth, underglaze green manufacturer's mark "Rosenthal SELB - BAVARIA" on the base, h 29 cm, designed by Johannes Boese (1856 - 1917) probably ~1900, executed by Rosenthal art department Selb 1928 (model no. 544), 1st choice, very good condition without visible wear, undamaged, unrestored 4738. Choice, very good condition with no visible signs of use, undamaged and unrestored 4738 Due to the mostly only faintly recognizable artist's signature, this figure is often offered as a work by Berthold Boeß, the Berlin sculptor Johannes Boese mainly created monuments, designs for statuettes were executed in Berlin by the Bildgießerei Kraas and KPM Berlin, after the artist's death in 1917 Rosenthal acquired two of his designs Lit.Emmy Niecol 2001, Rosenthal Kunst- und Zierporzellan 1897 - 1945, Volume II, page 53, No. 3.0021
