Solid green glass, plane-cut, enamelled and with silver overlay, four-sided stem vase of square outline with bevelled corners and plane-cut sides, surrounding repeat of finely engraved silver decoration with stylized phoenixes in a vegetal-geometric frame, enamel band below the lip with dancers in the style of the Follie Bergere against a white ground, silver-coated lip, flattened base with large lens, unmarked, h 26.3 cm, weight 1.260 gr, Josef Riedel Polaun (heuty Polubný) or Harrach'sche Glashütte Neuwelt (today Nový Svět) 1900 - 1905, bumped on the stand, silver overlay with small losses 2102 This rare vase belongs to a formally quite uniform group of rod vases with a square ground plan, which were mainly produced between 1900 and 1905 in the Riedel glassworks in Polaun, the decoration of this group, however, consists mostly of sparse painting or gilding, partly with heavily impastoed areas or even applied glass beads, neither the surrounding decorative band with dancers nor the galvanoplastic silver overlay is one of the known decorations, but this can be found several times at the same time on glasses from other Bohemian manufacturers such as Lötz Witwe or the Harrach glassworks
