Silver 958 (Britannia standard), chased, stamped and cut, cylindrical, diagonally gadrooned body on a flared stand with tall, also diagonally gadrooned plug-in lid with bayonet catch, the lid wall with cut card, the frame and the rim of the lid each with the guarantee mark England (seated Britannia), the city mark London (leopard's head), the year mark "d" and the workshop mark "C.S.H" in trefoil, h 16 cm, weight 240 g, very good condition, minor wear, Charles Stuart Harris London 1896, very good condition with minor signs of use 4101 The so-called Britannia silver was introduced in 1696 under King William III of Orange and remained binding until 1720, after which this highest silver standard was only used occasionally.
