Cast brass grip, multiple openwork basket with a crowned lion standing on a shell-set pedestal, leather-covered grip with a slightly downward curved pommel and dense winding of twisted brass wire, flower-shaped rosette in relief at the pommel end, narrow, tapered blade with a single edge, broad back and fullers on both sides, ricasso 2.5 cm long, acceptance marks (crowned "G" and "54") on the obverse side, blade l 90 cm, w 2.8 cm, total l 104.5 cm, weight 1.080 gr, Hesse? probably mid 19th century, overall good, seemingly untouched condition with minor signs of age and use, not tested 0120
