Large Ottoman Greek manuscript, Commentaries on the Book of Psalms copied by Statos al-Antaki Black and red ink, polychrome pigments on paper, embossed and gilded red leather binding Constantinople, 18th century 33.3 x 22.7 x 4.4 cm This is the first volume of a Greek manuscript, in cursive script on two columns, with initials and various ornaments in red. The frontispiece features a header with polychrome vegetal decoration. The manuscript was copied by Statos al-Antaki in an ecclesiastical workshop in Istanbul. Bound in red leather with embossed cross-flowers and fleurons.
