PISTOLETS LEPAGE FRERES Boulle-style marquetry cassette, monogrammed on the lid and sheathed in red velvet, containing a pair of dueling pistols, richly decorated with fluting and carvings on the wood and fine engraving on the metal parts. Percussion locks. Octagonal barrels, blued and marked with gold "acier tordu" and "1" and "2". Numerous accessories complete the cassette: ladle, mallet, bullet mold decorated en suite, powder flask, barrel shooter, oiler...a screwdriver for removing the chimney is not original, and a capsule tool is missing. These guns are signed around the hammers by "Lepage Frères, 12 rue d'Enghien à Paris". This signature can also be found on the inside of the lid. These high quality guns, with decorations typical of the period, are in very good condition. Marginal damage to the marquetry. Note a few dents in the copper on the outside of the cassette.
