Contemporary cathedral binding. Red morocco, boards decorated with a large central gilt plate framed by a frieze of mosaic crosses in tan and brown morocco with alternating diamond-shaped morocco fleurons at the corners set in gilt fillets; boards inscribed "ANNO" "M DCCCXXX" in gilt capitals framed by a fillet, cold frieze and gilt fillet on the outer edge, inner lace, romantic four-rib spine, scrolls at the ends of the edges, gilt title and edges.
