They follow the whiplash-shaped armrest supports. The front crosspiece is scalloped and, like the top of the backrest, centers a double flower flanked by branches. Stamped L.DELANOIS, ink marks 31 and 33. Louis XV period (fully stripped, restorations). Height: 96 cm - Width: 67 cm - Depth: 60 cm Floral silk upholstery with blue background. Louis DELANOIS (1731-1792) received Master on July 27, 1761. This pair of armchairs is particularly interesting for its shape, with armrests flush with the foot and wide backs. We find this characteristic in DELANOIS' quality seating, such as the suite of six armchairs, upholstered in tapestry and preserved in the Musée du LOUVRE under number OA 9411.

Descended from a dynasty of chair carpenters, Jean-Baptiste GOURDIN was the eldest son of Jean GOURDIN, known as Père Gourdin, and brother of Michel GOURDIN.

The curved front crosspiece is centered with flowers, as is the top of the backrest. Recessed, ribbed armrests. Stamped BAUVE. Louis XV period (restorations, reinforcement of the belts, one foot enté). Height : 97 cm - Width : 70 cm - Depth : 70 cm Mathieu BAUVE or DEBAUVE, words around 1768, obtained his master's degree on August 1, 1754. BAUVE was renowned for the quality of his seat carvings, as our bergère testifies. Note also the particular comfort of this seat, with its very wide, low seat, which is also found in bergères known as Coin de feu.

19TH CENTURY, CHINESE SCHOOL, QING DYNASTY. ‘ANCESTOR WORSHIP’. - Depiction of a high-ranking Imperial official and his wife, probably from the reign of Emperor Xianfeng (1850 - 1861) of the Qing dynasty. The official is dressed in formal costume with a hat and a leather-lined tunic. The wife is depicted wearing an elaborate rooster headdress and a red-bottomed dragon robe, all of which are insignia of rank. Each figure is seated on a lacquered wood chair with mother-of-pearl inlays covered with tiger fur on a rug with depictions of Manchurian cranes and geometric and floral motifs. Ancestor memorial portraits became popular in the late Ming and Qing dynasties and were believed to house the spirits of the deceased. As such, they were commissioned by families and at certain rituals during the year they were displayed and revered with the greatest respect. Traditionally, this kind of portraits were presented as hanging scrolls in which the figures were depicted seated facing each other in compositions whose symmetry was reinforced in every detail, thus visually connecting the two portraits. As can be seen in this work, realism was crucial in the depiction of the faces, but not in the depiction of the surroundings, as it was intended to reflect the fact that the ancestors were no longer in the physical world.174 x 120 cm. ATTRIBUTED TO THE WORKSHOP OF PIERRE-ANTOINE BELLANGÉ (1757 - 1827). PAIR OF ARMCHAIRS, CIRCA 1815. - Mahogany and walnut wood. Trapezoidal seat on straight structure with slightly sabre legs. With flat back and armrests on carved dolphin-shaped supports. Upholstered in burgundy red with later period Empire motifs. The lower part of the seat has undergone restoration work from a later period. It has apparently inactive xylophagous holes and occasional cracks in the wood, as well as usual wear and tear on the varnish on the legs. 93.5 x 64 x 47 cm.

Two bergères in mahogany and mahogany veneer, the front legs in balusters, the front legs in sabers. Slightly curved front crosspiece. The armrest supports are detached balusters and the armrests are straight, ending in scrolls. Straight back, topped by a crosspiece finished with foliate scrolls. Stamped "JACOB.D.R.MESLEE", used by the Jacob firm between 1803 and 1813. One shepherdess bears a label under the belt "Monsieur Vincent". Empire period H. 99 cm - W. 58.5 cm - D. 60 cm Designed by Jacob Desmalter, rue Meslée, the top rail is characteristic of his work. A similar motif can be found in a pair of armchairs supplied by Jacob Desmalter for Prince Louis' small bedroom at the Château de Saint-Leu, circa 1805.

Attilio Prendoni (1874-1942) Nude woman in an armchair Bronze with brown patina Signed "A. Prendoni" on the terrace H. 35 cm x terrace W. 30.5 x D. 19 cm A native of Milan, Attilio Prendoni joined the Scapiglia- tura literary and artistic movement that developed in northern Italy between 1860 and 1880. This movement was opposed to the bourgeoisie and adopted a "bohemian" lifestyle and way of thinking, like the Parisian artists described in Henri Murger's 1851 novel Scènes de la vie de bohème. In 1904, he took part in the ex-position Italian exhibition Earl's Court organized by the London Chamber of Commerce.

H.: 77 cm. - L.: 203 cm. - D.: 88 cm. Wear, scratches and discoloration; Restorations and stains. Provenance: Acquired by Mr. L. (architect and friend of Jean Royère), then by descent. Originally, the upholstery was striped in ecru and orange, as shown in the photo of the painting by Simone Pillet.
