A Chinese pale celadon jade 'twin catfish' carving

The piece is carved in the round as two catfish intertwined, each clasping a sprig of lingzhi in its mouth. The details of the fins are finely incised. With two apertures for hanging at the mouth of one catfish. The stone is of an even, pale tone with a few fine veins. Accompanied with a wood stand. Vaandrager Condition: Appears to be in overall good condition, apart from minute nicks to the extremities and a few natural flaw lines to the stone. Origin: China Period: 19th century Sizes: 5.50 cm.
