Cont. overl. vellum, flat spine titled in ink (sl. soiled, headband def.). Very good copy. 2nd abridged Amsterdam ed. (1st 1617, orig. 1586) of this important survey of all of Great Britain and Ireland by the English historian Camden (1551-1623). Ill. with 19 nice engr. double-page maps. As a pocket edition for visiting Europeans, it was the most famous "guide-book" ever published for the country, a county by county chorography concerned with the history and antiquities of Britain.
