Dutch vellum binding, blind-stamped, ribbons missing (handwritten notes on endp., used). First and very rare Dutch augmented edition of Pontanus' history of Amsterdam, interesting not only for the description of the city, but also for the partial report of the Dutch voyages to the North (1594-1596) and the first two voyages to India (1595-1598). Includes the maps of Holland, the North Pole and Nova Guinea, two city plans and a view of the stock exchange of Amsterdam; 11 of the text-ills engraved by B. Wright are maps.
