Lot n° 1 - [Romantic Album Amicorum] [Journey on the banks of the Loire].
A small volume in-folio, Italian style, full midnight blue morocco, cold decoration, gold titled on the first plate "Album", blue-Saint-André moiré paper endpapers (period binding).
Dimensions: 15 x 23 cm.
Charming album containing the drawn memories of what seems to be a cruise on the Loire, in 1844, as suggested by a date on a portrait (27 September 1844).
This collection contains X drawings, including a view of a Gothic portal, about twenty landscapes of the banks of the Loire, eight pages of portraits, a genre scene and two pages of scribbles.
Most of the landscapes are located, with a spelling and a writing style that did not make it possible to identify all the places. However, we did note: "Rochemoris Loire" (Roche Maurice, Nantes), "Bouguenet sur la Loire" (Bouguenais), "Villa Valentin à Clisson", "Clisson", "Château Labourdonnaye", "Tour d'Oudon, Loire", "Saint Florent le vieil, Tour à la mémoire de Bonchamp", "Saint Eusèbe", "Château de Saumur", "Chaumont Loire", "Château de Blois", "Tour de Dagobert", etc.
Scrubbed binding, scratches.
Provenance: Apollonie de la Rochelambert (1803-1893), then by descent until today.
Set of souvenirs of Apollonie de la Rochelambert, born in Bruges (1803-1893).
The destiny of Apollonie de La Rochelambert, born into a monarchist family, emigrated during the Revolution, viscerally attached to the royal family of France, is characteristic of these loyal aristocrats, having experienced, in the course of this tormented 19th century, the joys of favours and the torments of exile, at the rhythm of regime changes.
Apollonie was born in Berlin, where his father, the Viscount of Bruges, emigrated and married Henriette, Countess of Golowkin. Back in Paris, she befriends Aurore Dupin, the future Georges Sand, at the convent of the English Augustinian Ladies, then she

Lot n° 5 - [Diary]
Diary of Apollonie de Valon, née La Rochelambert, in 1844.
An in-4 volume, full of green sorrow, romantic cold decoration, smooth spine, bronze clasp with key (binding of the time)
Apollonie de Valon was the eldest daughter of the La Rochelambert couple. A reader for the Queen of Prussia, she married Léon de Valon (1810-1887), first as an embassy secretary, then as general counsellor and deputy for Corrèze, vice-president of the General Council of Eure, founder of the Jockey-Club. They lived in the castle of Saint-Priest (Corrèze), where they ran a salon and welcomed their friends Flaubert, Mérimée, Thiers, etc.
Rich in more than a hundred handwritten pages, containing thoughts written in French and German, as well as numerous poems and excerpts from novels (Schiller, Goethe, Lamartine, Chateaubriand, von Herder, Byron, Hugo, Custine, etc.), it gives a high idea of the literary culture of a young Romantic aristocrat. On many occasions, the pages retain dried flowers. The end of the collection is enriched with notes by his children, Apolline, wife of Gaston Castelbajac, and Bertrand and Jules de Valon.
Provenance: Apollonie de Valon, born La Rochelambert (1825-1904), then by descent to the present day.

Lot n° 6 - Herbarium] [Album Amicorum]
Herbarium of Apollonia of La Rochelambert, 1832-1838.
Dimensions: 22.5 x 33.5 cm
An oblong folio volume, Italian-style, red half-maroquin, marbled paper plates, spine ribbed, gold titled on the spine (contemporary binding). In a case covered with marbled paper.
Very moving herbarium of about sixty leaves, preserving flowers and leaves, each linked to a memory of his life that Apollonie noted, with date and context. Some of the anecdotes are completed in his own hand, several years later, as his handwriting has changed.
Since most of his plants are small gifts made during interviews, walks, and balls, this herbarium makes it possible to recreate Apollonie's social network, both in Germany and France.
Among the characters cited are:
Fanny de la Rochefoucauld, the Duke of Bordeaux, Joseph of Bruges, Princess Charles of Prussia, M. de Ribeaupierre, the Count of Brandenburg, Georgina de Bergh, Camille de Rohan, M. de Chabot, H.M. King Charles X, Antoine Potocki, the Duke of Tuscany, von Bonin, Princess William of Prussia, M. of Kaunitz, Duchess of Escars, Theodosius Golitzin, Prince Thurn und Taxis, Princess Lobkowitz, Countess Tolstoy, Sophie Koutouzoff, Count of Königsmark, Princess Kinsky, Louise of Prussia, Mouchy, Noailles, Pourtalès, Prince of Württemberg, etc., and many others.
